Joel said...

Last week we redid J+J's room.  It was the very last thing on our Big Switcheroo list.  Friday afternoon I found comforters for them and all of us (except Mark who was in the kitchen making Chicken Curry) worked on remaking their beds and putting the comforters on.  It looked so nice and the guys were really happy.

In the morning when Joel got up, I asked how he slept.

"Good, Mom.  I felt like I was in a hotel last night!"

Yesterday Joel didn't have school.  While he ate breakfast and I puttered around in the kitchen and got ready for the day, we chatted about everything from volcanoes, Mt. Everest, Mt. Kilimanjaro (which he says he wants to climb with his two brothers someday), Australia and PNG, and Port Townsend, WA.  We looked up info online when we had questions and also had out our gihugic atlas trying to locate specific places.  At the end he decided to draw a map of Australia.  I loved what he had so far and asked if he was going to color it in.

"No, Mom, this is my rift raft."  (rough draft)
