Do you know what's REALLY good?

1.  Bangs that are JUST right...not too short, not too long.  Mine were a tad too short yesterday and they'll be a smidge too long tomorrow, so I'm happy about perfect bangs TODAY.

2.  This banana bread recipe:

3 or 4 ripe bananas, mashed
1/3 cup applesauce or olive oil
3/4 cup sugar
1 egg, beaten
2 tablespoons strong brewed coffee
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon baking soda
pinch of salt
1 1/2 cup flour (whole wheat works well)

Preheat oven to 350.  With a wooden spoon, mix applesauce into the mashed bananas in a large mixing bowl.  Mix in the sugar, egg,  vanilla and coffee.   Sprinkle the baking soda and salt over the mixture and mix in.  Add the flour last, mix.  pour mixture into a buttered loaf pan.  Bake of one hour.  Cool on a rack.  Remove from pan and slice to serve.

3.  Phone calls from your mom.

4.  Texting...perfect for when you don't have a lot to write or it's not a good time to talk.
5.  A Saturday night date with your husband.

6.  Funny children who make their mother laugh.  This morning I was eating baby spinach and Joel said, "That looks like something they'd eat in Lord of the Rings!"

7.  Finding an alligator necklace you bought some 20 years ago in Kenya, and wearing it to Sunday gathering.
8.  Kids that want to draw a lot right now.
9.  Foot massages from your middle kid.  The other night he told me to stop fidgeting.  I told him it was because he was stopping too often, and I was trying to get him to keep on.  He said, "Mom, just sit back, relax and let the master do his thing."

10.  Surprises and the planning of them with friends.
