Christmas Eve and beyond...

The 24th was such a sweet time for our family.  We invited people, who have no family here, to spend the evening with us.

Probably one of my favorite memories from the 24th was something that happened earlier in the day while we were preparing our home for our guests.  Mark and I asked the boys to join us in the bathroom (while I did my hair) to just talk about how the night would go--how we wanted them to be aware what was going on around them and offer more food/drinks when needed, where we'd put all the coats and boots and purses so that we could all "fit" and how the boys could assist with that, and just that we wanted to be a blessing to everyone and help them forget that they weren't home with family on this night.  We each prayed about the evening and that God would help us.  It was such a fun, funny, touching moment.
We ate a delicious meal, talked, laughed...

sang,

played a sharing game, and danced (well, some danced and some tried to learn the Salsa!)

We had nice Christmas morning too (even though we were TIRED from the night before!)...

and another big meal and fun times with a great group of friends Christmas night.

My s-i-l, her mom, and three of our nieces and nephews came to spend a week or so.  They planned to arrive on the 27th, but because of an announced storm in the Midwest, they decided to leave early to try to miss it by driving all night and the following day.  They did the right thing because they beat the storm and got here on the the night of the 26th...right before we got a big storm here.

What a nice time we've been having...

I am so filled with JOY!
