the *joy* alert: december 8

"I'm an idea man Chuck, I get ideas, sometimes I get so many ideas that I can't even fight them off!  What if you mix the mayonnaise in the can, WITH the tunafish? Or... hold it! Chuck! I got it! Take LIVE tuna fish, and FEED 'em mayonnaise! Oh this is great. Call Starkist!"  from the movie, Nightshift

I had a couple ideas today.  So tonight at supper I asked everyone to share an idea that they had this day.  And my sweets couldn't think of anything.  Well, Mark did say something about practicing his guitar and how he realized he needed to practice differently.  Then he said that he didn't think he had ideas every day and wanted to know if I do.  I said I believe that I do.

My witty and sarcastic family who earlier had no ideas, started sharing some.  After that, I heard things like:
My idea is that we should have some cookies for dessert!
I have an idea to read to the kids in about 5 minutes.
I don't think I should eat these beans in the bottom of my bowl.  Isn't that a good idea?

Wise guys, they are!  Anyway, here's an idea I had today.
This is at my friend's place.  I had seen two wooden frames just hanging out behind a bookshelf and asked her if I could do something with them.  My ultimate idea is to blow up some of her special family pictures and and make a sort of collage for her dining room.  But while I get that figured out, I thought one of the frames would look nice and a bit Christmassy, if I put scrapbook paper in the squares.  I love how cheery it is!

*Joy* Alert:  Although I have LOTS of ideas, I must admit that not too many of them turn out to be that good.  I'm joyful for a GOOD one (and also for my funny family that makes me smile).

This month, I am joining my friend,Sarah Jane, in writing daily about things that bring joy during this lovely, peaceful holiday season.
joy in the season
I saw a GAP ad the other day that I shamelessly "borrowed" for my titles this coming month. Ironically, if I can stay out of the GAP and other such places, I will most definitely be more alert to what brings REAL, lasting joy.
