De Retour

We are safely home on Rue Chavigneau.  We arrived this morning at 4:30 after 20 hours on the road.  Mark and I took 2-hour driving shifts.  That wasn't too bad except for my last turn which was from 12:45 until 2:45.  The boys were asleep, Mark was trying to sleep, and I was navigating my way through Montreal and umpteen work zones and closed exits and blinking arrows.  I so badly wanted to be done.  I really wanted my bed.  And then I, with much relief, switched places with Mark after I'd pulled over to the side of the road. The next thing I knew, we were pulling into our driveway.

We all crawled into bed and slept until about 9:00.  Then after a quick trip to the grocery store for a few supplies and a quick egg-toast-strawberry breakfast (and lots of coffee), we started the job of unloading and unpacking.  There are still a couple of suitcases to unpack, but pretty much everything else has found its home, a couple loads of laundry have been done, the flat tire has been repaired on the van that stayed here, and there was even some time for fun with our friend, √Člie.  (He said, "It's been a long time since I've eaten supper with you.")

And now I'm falling sleep as I type, so I'll wrap this up.  Tomorrow...our favorite parts of our Indiana summer.
