Awesome/Not Awesome*

Because we (sort of) speak French now, we have found that there are certain words that we always say in French, even if we are speaking English.  They just work better.  One of the words is "plage" so I was delighted to hear this very fun song the other night.

Last week I read what could possibly be the best piece on parenting I've ever read.  You can find the article here.  If you are a parent, I highly suggest you read it.

I really liked last week's This American Life, but I especially liked the first 2 minutes and 22 seconds.  If you've ever learned a second language, you'll remember the first time you tried to use it in a real life situation.  I laughed so hard, and loved it so much that I think I'll just listen to that bit every day for a while.

I found this fitness instructor a couple months back and just love her free workout videos available on YouTube.  Currently I'm doing the pajama workout (but I don't wear my pj's).  Do it 3 times in a row (about 30 minutes) and you'll be super energized for the day (or be ready to go back to bed, which will be okay because you'll maybe still have your pj's on)

Love this map of the US from a Californian's perspective.

I'm reading The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society right now.  I'm about half-way through and find it completely delightful so far.

Not Awesome
My husband was not awesome when he thought it would be a good idea to freak me out with this video.  I couldn't stop thinking about it afterwards.  If you are a little obsessive sometimes, I don't recommend watching.  My kids thought it was cool in a crazy sort of way.

Blogger was down for a day and a half last week and when they came back, I saw that my draft of this post that I had been working on was gone.  That was definitely not awesome.
