I’m reflecting today on a chapter in Brennan Manning’s book Ruthless Trust.  He says,

“The foremost quality of a trusting disciple is gratefulness. Gratitude arises from the lived perception, evaluation, and acceptance of all of life as grace—as an undeserved and unearned gift from the Father’s hand.”

Today I’m grateful…

for written words
for color
for hot soup
for the warm kiss of the sun
for music
for memories and remembering
for laughter
for email
for silence
for hugs
for prayer
for getting someplace early
for coffee
for peanut butter and jelly
for down comforters
for a big yawn/stretch combinations
for skipping
for good friends
for my dishwasher
for the smell of clean laundry
for snow storms
for love
for onions and cumin
for good stories
for hard work
for finding $5 in a coat pocket
for silliness
for being an early bird
for hearing that great song in the grocery store
for lessons
for change
for singing loudly, alone in the car
for just being alone
for sharing
for good questions
for Google
for understanding
for double-sided tape
for board games
for winks
for hot showers
for vacuums
for nostalgia
for new traditions
for the cleansing of a good cry
for smiley faces in chats :)
for bedtime
for the first bite of an apple
for whistling
for hard times
for miracles

for all these things, I’m grateful.
