Want to win a very powerful $25?

I’ve talked before about Kiva, a micro-credit lending program and the positive impact it (and other lending programs) have on poverty and justice issues. We love the concept and have invested some of our money in Kiva. You can learn more about Kiva here.

We are so sold on this concept that we’d like to introduce it in a practical way to someone today. We are going to do this by giving away a $25.00 Kiva gift certificate that one chosen reader can use to make their first micro-credit loan through Kiva.  With Kiva, you get to choose the person to whom you will lend.  If you have an interest in a particular country, you can choose based on that interest.  If you want to choose based on the type of business, then you can do that too.

The lovely thing about this giveaway, is that once you’ve loaned the $25 and it is paid back to you, you can re-lend the same $25.  You don’t have to, of course.  You can keep the money, but why wouldn’t you find another person to help lift out of poverty?

So to be included in the drawing, please leave this comment:
“I’d like to win $25 to lend to an entrepreneur who is working hard to provide for his or her family.”
There, you don’t even have to think about what to say.   Just copy and paste.  Please don’t be shy.  It’s a chance for you to do something good with someone else’s money.  Doesn’t that sound like fun??  I get about 30 readers here per day, so I really hope for at least that many people to try to win this.   On your mark, get set, GO!!!

Giveaway is open until Tuesday at 11:00 p.m.  We’ll select the winner with a random drawing, and I will announce the winner on Wednesday morning and that lucky person can email me with their info.
