Thoughts about gratitude

You say grace before meals.
All right.
But I say grace before the concert and the opera,
and grace before the play and pantomime,
and grace before I open a book,
and grace before sketching, painting, swimming, fencing,
boxing, walking, playing,
dancing
and grace before I dip the pen in the ink.

G.K. Chesterton

Been thinking lately that if I really took the time in each moment to be thankful for all the good things~the touches, the laughter, the smells, the beauty, the kindness, the abundance...life, there surely wouldn't be room for any whining.

So today, right now in fact, I'm going to close my eyes, breathe deep while listening to this...and be grateful!

...for eskimo kisses,
for the ablility to run,
for LOVE,
for knowing I can feed my kids today,
for warm blankets,
for words,
for memories,
for fresh clean water coming out of a tap in our home,
for the smell of rain,
for hard work,
for hot coffee,
for Truth,
for the sound of beautiful music,
for heart beats,
for clean laundry,
for dirty laundry,

for belly-laughs,
for inspiration,
for pain,
for working together,
for forgiveness and fresh starts,
for change,
for the warmth of the sun on my face
for sharing...
for these things and much more, I'm grateful.
