Quebec's July was disappointing, from what we've heard. Rain, rain, and more rain--only five days without rain. We've been back for ten days and it's been warm and dry and sunny! It is truly SUMMER now! And even though we are a little too warm at times (it is the rare home in Quebec that has air-conditioning), we are not complaining. We've just been blasting the fans and cooling off at the local pool. And as the sweat drips down our backs, we think about how fast winter comes and how long it stays around. That awareness alone is quick to silence our bellyaching.
I took the above photo after lunch with friends at the park today. Have you ever seen such a thing? I believe that squirrel was just plumb HOT and needed to cool off in the shade for a spell.
In other news, Operation Crackdown (what I'm calling our fresh attempts at getting this family back in ship-shape order after an indulgent summer) is in full swing. I believe we are making progress, but all is not yet as it should be in Billingtonville. Prayers and/or ideas welcome!!
