A Happy Father's Day

Yes, we celebrate Father's Day on the same Sunday as Americans do. It's just that I'm behind and trying to catch up.

The kids and I made these circles filled with lists of things we like about Dad/Mark. They turned out pretty cute, if I do say so myself. Some of the phrases the kids wrote really amuse me.
An all-church picnic was scheduled for after the morning service, but because of rain, we ate inside. It was one of those days where the weather seemed to change hourly. On our way home from lunch, the sun came out and chased the clouds away.
After the kids rested for awhile (Sunday afternoon naps!! Aahh) we went down to the river to walk, talk, and throw rocks.
Oh, and eat ice cream!
We planned to take Mark to a little Mexican restaurant that I had just discovered a couple days before. We were all so disappointed when we walked up to the door and saw that it is closed on Sundays. Back home we went for pizza and the Waltons.

I think it was a good day.

We've been "on the road" since last Thursday so I'm going to take a few days here and catch up on my posts. The only way I can remember what has happened in the the last couple weeks is from my pictures! It's been a little hectic (in the days before we left Quebec) and unplanned and relaxing and spontaneous (in the days since leaving). We arrived in Indy last night which is pretty much where we'll hang out hats until we head back home the first week of August. Thanks to our most generous and gracious friends, the T's, we have a beautiful and peaceful place to call home for the next several weeks. We don't deserve it, but we LOVE it!!! Thanks, guys!
