Once upon a time...

I found these photos a couple days ago. They aren't the best quality, but they do a good job of telling a story, don't they?? It's probably not a true story, because I don't think we ever loved each other like we appear to here.I love this mumu shot with the Volkswagen in the background. What handsome parents we have!!
I wonder who was taking this picture. I'm the only one smiling at him, anyway.

One Bright Day

Remember this poem from elementary school??

One bright day in the middle of the night
Two dead boys got up to fight.
Back to back they faced each other,
Drew their swords and shot each other.
A deaf policeman heard the noise,
And came and shot the two dead boys.
If you do not believe this lie,
Ask the blind man. He saw it too. Mark said something at dinner time the other night that made me think of it. I recited it. Never would I have guessed that the boys would have thought it so funny. They still get tickled over it a week later. I get so much joy from watching them really laugh.

Jack's Sees

A couple weeks ago we received a note from Jack's teacher saying she thought he needed an eye exam. We followed up, and sure enough...
He has an astigmatism so will need to wear his glasses all the time except for sporting activities. I was quite shocked actually, at how strong they are, and it makes me sad to think how long he's not been seeing well, and we didn't figure it out ourselves.

He's not thrilled with the idea of wearing glasses. He told me today that he wants to be a mailman when he grows up. This was a new one, and after some questions, he revealed that he knew his future football career was over now because of his need to wear glasses. So sweet and sad that he thought this without talking to us about it, just suffering silently. He doesn't like how he looks, either. I guess he'll just have to get used to the idea.

I think he looks absolutely adorable!!
